CPU Motherboard Designer (Electrical Engineering)
We usually respond within a week
Key Responsibilities:
- Create detailed motherboard layouts and schematics using CAD tools. Develop deeply embedded computer systems that support real-time distributed control, multiprocessing, high-throughput low-latency data transfer, and demanding data analysis/visualization applications.
- Collaborate with other team members to develop FPGA IP, firmware, BSPs, device drivers, and kernel modules for interfacing with A/D and D/A converters, sensors, power electronics, and other hardware sub-systems.
- Develop high-speed communication interface: Hardware designs using PCI Express®, SERDES, USB, and Ethernet fieldbus (EtherCAT®, POWERLINK, etc.)
- Simulation and Testing: Perform signal integrity analysis using HyperLynx® SI/GHz and supervise layout of controlled impedance PCBs.
- Collaboration: Work with hardware engineers, software developers, and other stakeholders to integrate the motherboard design with other system components.
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed design documentation, including schematics, layout files, specification, and test reports. Coordinate production release of PCB and cable designs via Siemens Teamcenter®
- Troubleshooting: Perform bring-up, troubleshooting, and debugging of new designs and field issue.
- Compliance: Ensure designs comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements. CE safety and emissions compliance and testing.
Requirements / Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and proficient in maintaining high levels of accuracy in work.
- Experience with Intel or ARM platform architectures, experience in hardware designs with FPGAs, DSPs, and microcontrollers, and expertise in high-speed digital communication interfaces like CompactPCI Serial, PCI Express, VMEbus, SERDES, or Ethernet.
- Proficient in multi-gigabit signal integrity and timing analysis, controlled impedance PCB and cable design, and C programming for firmware, BSP, device driver, kernel module, and test software development.
- Experience with design verification tools, Altium Designer, Zuken E3.cable, FPGA IP, Verilog HDL, and general lab equipment like digital oscilloscopes and logic/protocol analyzers is a plus.
